These pieces investigate applications for wood waste material. In this form, wood can become a material for additive processes and has the possibility for a range of surface texture. A variety of binding agents were investigated including paper pulp, cotton, adhesives, and latex paint. Several ratios of material were tested as well as the application of pressure using a hydraulic press. The coarse exterior texture provides visual interest while the functional zone of the interior is articulated via a solid, smooth surface.
